Configure Chart of Accounts

This document illustrates how to add, edit and delete accounts in the Chart of Accounts management. It includes configuring account types, code, names and specific attributes related to the account, such as recording in the original currency, whether the account is a cash account, as well as handling restrictions for accounts already used in bookkeeping.

1. Accessing the Charts of Accounts management page

  1. On the project homepage, navigate to Ledger > Chart of Account

2. Adding a new Account

  1. Find and click the "Add New" button in the upper right corner of the page to open a new account creation window.

  1. Select the account type.

  2. enter the account code - only numbers are allowed, and code must be unique.

  3. Enter the account name.

  4. Select the account's balance direction

  5. Optional: Add auxiliary accounting fields.

  6. Enable original currency accounting: For asset/liability accounts, check this option to support accounting in the original transaction currency.

  7. Is it a cash account: For asset accounts, checking this option will allow the cash flow statement to track changes in the account's fiat balance.

3. Editing an Account

  1. Find the "Pencil" icon on the right side of the Account and click to open the Edit account window.

  1. You can edit the account code, name, and cash account type

  2. Only accounts yet to be involved in bookkeeping can have the balance direction, auxiliary accounting and Enable original currency accounting edited.

4. Deleting an Account

  1. Find the "Thrashcan" button on the right side of the account and click to delete it.

  2. Accounts that have already been involved in bookkeeping cannot be deleted.
